This sticks are sturdy. They definitely don't sound as good as the Fan Thai Sticks, but at least they don't fall apart in two days. As they get older and used up, the dowels separate a bit and become more flexible... and they sound better, especially on the cymbals. They feel awkward in the hand... beefy and heavy. Not the best design in the world, but you can count on them. I recommend them... they are nice to have around when your other routes desintegrate in the middle of a gig.
