Vater Slick Nut Quick-Release Cymbal Fastener
A cool-looking, convenient, and time-saving method for securing cymbals to stands. Unlike the traditional wing nut, the Slick Nut doesn't need to be threaded on or off and won't loosen or fall off while you play. Simply hold in the fastening button, put Slick Nut on the cymbal stand, and release the button. It can also be used as a theft deterrent by tightening the hex set screw on the side of the body. This makes the Slicknut nonremovable, a great feature for drummers who have to leave their drum kits in clubs overnight. The Slick Nut fits stands with 8mm threads and has a cymbal felt attached. Hex key and replacement felt included.

Why all active working drummers aren't using these is a mystery to me. I'm hoping they're just too busy to have heard about them. They look pro - they work and do not strip threads if that's of any concern - like you'll ever go back to wing nuts ever again! They can be adjusted for varying swing preferences and are built tough. Use the provided felts or use your own. Best of all of course is the ease of setting up and breaking down - and if you happen to drop one you can find it rather quickly! The only con is on some China cymbals they're too big to fit in the bell - for that I use plastic sleeved wing nuts. 4 stars ONLY because I believe they could be made a bit slimmer for all China cymbals and still do the job.
