All you have to do is smear a little bit of this towards the ends of both your tubes, spray on a bunch of water and let it rip. This stuff is great.

I've used a lot of different slide creams and oils since the old Pond's cold cream days. Trombotine goes on quick, doesn't take much. It lasts longer than any I've tried. This doesn't gum up or deteriorate if left on an unused slide. Although cleaning off an unused slide is a good idea, I've picked up a horn that's been in the case awhile, sprayed it and it worked great.
