This is the best piece of equipment you can buy to improve your tone. I coupled mine with a Peavey Kosmos and the sound is massive, and I only use a 2x12. I used them both this past weekend with my friend's Ampeg and 8x10. It sounded like a huge wall of bass! The tone is impeccable. You cannot go wrong with it!

I bought this a few months back to use with my Ampeg BA115. it added great tone to an already great amp. the distortion for it sounds like the bass from sick of it all. 2 band EQ lets you cut in stead of just boosting it. the only down side is having to unscrew the back to remove the battery, only because its an inconvienience. the good point to it being inside the box is so you wont break a cheap plastic handle and end up having to duct tape the battery so it will stay in place. highly recommended.

I use the bass driver as my main pre-amp, plugged straight into the poweramp input of my Peavy heads. With the controls set flat, you get a fantastic punchy tone that you can then adjust to suit the venue, bass, speakers etc. I have Labsystems 2x10 and Labsystems 2x12 cabs driven by two power amps, slaved off the bass driver. I used to use the inbuilt preamps of the bass heads (heavily graphic equalized) with Yamaha NE-1 parametric equalisers, but the bass driver is better, way better. Instant tone..I have a Musicman Stingray. What a Bass! (sold my fenders.. No comparison.I will certainly look at buying the rackmount version as it has the middle control plus some extra level controls and effects loop.

In an age of disappointing, poorly made products, this box is extremely well made. Mine got submerged after very intense rain and flooding. I was certain that I'd need to buy a new one, but I unscrewed the back and let it air dry. After 5 or so days, I reassembled it (I also might've changed the battery). I plugged in an old bass and couldn't believe it worked like new. I'd definitely buy another one if, say, a bulldozer runs over this one. Also, before I buy any box, I'll first check out a Tech 21 product.

This bass driver is awesome. It really makes your tone much clearer and the overdrive is cool. It's amazing how much it changes your sound. I don't play without it because my amp sounds cheap to me now when I don't. You can get really sharp and trebly with it too if you want. The only thing I don't like about this DI is that there's no midrange control.
