Always thinking of our fat-stringed brethren, we had to make a 3-channel, programmable, rig-in-a-box for bassists who can't get enough of a great thing. Like the TRI-A.C. for guitar, you get three hot tones right at your toetips. The all-analog circuitry features the same controls as its single channel predecessor: Drive, Bass, Treble, Presence, Blend and Level. Digital only in its programmability, you just tweak the knobs until you find a tone, double-tap on a footswitch, and it's saved in that channel. It's that simple. Three of your faves - to go!
  • 3-channel, programmable rig-in-a-box
  • Drive, bass, treble, presence, blend, and level controls
  • All-metal construction
  • Operates via a 9V alkaline battery, phantom power, or the optional Tech 21 DC2 power supply
  • 7.25"L x 5"W x 2"H
  • 25 oz.

Tech 21 SansAmp 3-Channel Programmable Bass Driver DI
Sans Amp Programmable Bass Driver DI

Much more than just a direct box, the SansAmp Bass Driver DI is capable of dialing up big vintage tube tones, bright modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and all in between. Three different outputs to drive power amps, recording desks, PA mixers, or simply enhance your current rig. Controls include Presence for definition and upper harmonic content; Blend to combine the proportion of direct signal and SansAmp circuitry; and active EQ specifically tuned for bass with 12dB of cut or boost.

The controls offer a broad range of traditional bass amp sounds, including such meaty styles as Bassman and SVT, as well as raunchy, crunchy overdriven sounds that would typically require a multitude of effects units.

For studio and live applications, SansAmp Bass Driver DI is engineered with three outputs: an effected XLR, and effected 1/4", and a parallel, unaffected 1/4". The footswitch activates the Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry. Disengaging the circuitry enables you to use SansAmp Bass Driver DI as a standard active transparent direct box.

I've been playing bass now for over 18 years and every once in a while I come across a piece of gear that makes so much of an improvement in my tone that it actually improves my playing. Last year I picked up the Sansamp Programmable Bass DI, and it did just that. This thing makes it possible to get a nice sounding tube grit, scooped slap sound, a clean boost for soloing and so many more tonal possibilities. With three memory locations, it makes it pretty easy for me to store patches to change sounds for when I have to play gigs with the two bands that I play with. I really prefer the sound of the analog circuitry that the BDDI uses as opposed to some of the digital processors (like the Bass PODxt) that are popular right now. I use a Modulus Bass and SWR and Mesa Boogie amps & cabinets and the Sansamp BDDI adds depth, grit and musical highs that I was not able to achieve before, plus it helps my bass to sit well in the mix when playing wtih bands. Sound guys love it too! Buy this pedal , you will not regret it!
