Taylor 714-CE Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar
The Taylor 714-CE Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar combines the full-bodied sound of Indian rosewood with the responsiveness of a Western red cedar top to create a fingerstyle workhorse. Equipped with the Taylor Expression System and cutaway, it has the tools to shine in any music venue. A Western red cedar top coupled with a rosewood body provides the ultimate in responsiveness without sacrificing tone.

The grand auditorium body design combines the width and depth of a dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Taylor Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming.

An abalone soundhole rosette and the Indian rosewood binding and headstock overlay are warm, natural accents to the Taylor 714-CE.

Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.

The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

I love my 714ce. I play live and with the onboard electronics I get a wonderful tone free of feedback. My other guitar is a 1972 Martin D28 and it has been fairly neglected since I bought the Taylor two years ago.

I have always loved vintage Martins - that is until I played this Indian Rosewood Taylor 714ce. I have never, ever in my life heard an acoustic guitar sound this rich and warm. The Western Red Cedar top likely has something to do with the tone - awesome depth and sustain. Has a nice, bright midrange I thought was lost on the Martin HD-28v I compared it to. Has similar 'earthy' sound as Lowden.Paid 2699.00 new (worth much more).

I bought my first Taylor 2 years ago after going to the music store to buy acoustic strings. Picked up a Taylor 714ce on a fluke! Daydreamed about it for six months, and then went and bought it. Great company.
