The birch gives these drums a very punchy, deep tone. I put an EMAD on the batter side of my bass drum and it will rattle the garage, house, wherever I'm playing. Toms sound great, the shallow depths cut through the amps and are clear and don't have a lot of overtones. The snare has a lot of crack to it and sounds unbelievable. Stands are top quality. I really love the hihat with the spare the rod design, really makes it easy to travel and worry-free. The hardward on the drums is absolutely beautiful, you should really see it in person. Clamps hold on tight, just arrange the stands so nothing will fall over from the weight. You probably won't need to mic up the drums if you're playing a gig, and the amps would probably need to be turned up because they are so loud.
