Takamine EG522C Classical Cutaway Acoustic-Electric GuitarEG522C
6 String Acoustic / ElectricThe G Series from Takamine has created great controversy. Play a G Series guitar and you're apt to think it's one of the finest acoustic/electrics made. That's because it is. Actually, each one is made under the commanding rule of the luthiers who hand craft the guitars of the pros. Which is precisely why the G Series feel so good, and sound so good. The contention, however, comes down to this: How can such fine instruments be so incredibly affordable?
There is no simple answer. But what we can tell you is that these guitars rival the mid and many upper line models of other popular makers. Be it construction, the woods chosen, or the playability, nothing in the G Series has been sacrificed. Fact is, the Takamine G Series even comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Professionally tapered necks with a radius fingerboard and a 1-9/16" nut width will let your fingers glide through chords and scales as easily as a knife slices through butter. Above all are the electronics that find their home in these stringed instruments. The preamps in the G Series are the very same style and performance systems that were found on Takamine pro series guitars. Bottom Line? This guitar sings with superb clarity and colorful contrast.
TK4NThe TK4N preamp gives you a tunable notch filter and switchable midrange contour.

I have been most impressed with the overall quality and playability of this guitar for the price. The neck is great (especially for those of us with small hands) and has a comfortable and forgiving feel. The tone is very good and true. The real bonus was when I plugged it in to my Crate. I got a very pure classical sound! The case is good and why doesn't everybody do a built in tuner? As the owner of a Taylor, my standards tend to be a bit high. This guitar has exceeded my expectations.
This guitar is ideal for amplified gigs and quite good for unamplified ones. I had a luthier round the ends of the braces to improve the low end, now it purrs. The neck is very stable for a classical guitar (rod installed). Overall I am very impressed.
Excellent sound when played through an acoustic amp. Good playability - slightly easier than my Yamaha CD170SA however the sound of the Yamaha I would say is slightly better when compared without amplification. The case (which was a freeby) I was not overly impressed with. The construction of the case itself and the lining is good but the poor quality hinges will probably need to be replaced in the near future. Overall though, an excellent guitar for the price.
Great construction and finish, incredible sound and very affordable!
Easy to play, great sound, and affordable. I have previously owned some Spanish guitars as well as a Yamaha, and the sound of this Takamine is tops.
