I bought this guitar as an experiment, to see if it was as good as everyone says,....and it IS! I'm a Gibson guy, got a Les Paul Classic and she's my baby, but I needed some Tele twang, and for a mere $200. this Squier Tele blows me away, I just can't put her down. ( I normally won't touch anything under $500. )The finish is Candy Apple Red, and it's gorgeous, much prettier than I expected, and the chrome hardware just shines. Neck is very comfy and very smooth, medium-thin profile. <> The pickups are nice and quiet, with beautiful tone, not high output but still very good. <> Knobs and switches are good, minor scratchy sound in the pup switch-bridge position, nothing serious though. <> Tuners are OK, they hold tune through slight string bending,.......I would not play live with stock tuners though, and will be upgrading to Schaller locking tuners shortly. <> String action was decent right out of the box, I'll lower them slightly but they are at very playable height right out of the box. <> Overall rating I'll give is four stars, because of the cheap tuners, but really for the price you can't go wrong. I've not played another better axe in this price range, ( even a $300. Epiphone LP special... ). <> Bottom line - I highly recommend this guitar for anyone, beginner or pro, it is very solid and will last for many years. It is an unbelievable guitar for the price tag.
THIS IS ONE SWEET SOUNDING GUITAR. IF YOU PLAY AN ACOUSTIC ONCE IN A WHILE YOU WILL BE THRILLED BY THE RICH SOUND AND TONE THIS ONE PUSHES. I JUST LOVE IT.
I've been playing for 28 years, practically everything under the sun. I got interested in buying a Telecaster recently, and started checking them out at the local shops, this model really caught my eye, and after I plugged it in to a Fender Reverb and started playing, it won my heart! Such sweet sounds from a Squier?! I even picked up a Mexican Fender Tele and compared the two in sound and craftsmanship the Squier was actually superior...and at half the price. I found the guitar cheaper at WWBW with free shipping, and ordered the Vintage Blonde with the Rosewood fretboard. It arrived quickly and well packed, tuned up right out of the box and sounded so sweet plugged into my old tube amp. The neck is nice and fast and the frets smooth with no burrs or ragged edges. True Fender Quality! No "set up" was even necessary. I haven't touched my Les Paul, my Strat or my ES335 since I got it. I'm really digging that Tele Twang! You got to get one...for the value its a great guitar at a great price!
I wanted a new guitar, and I didn't have much cash, so I bought this. I am quite pleased with this guitar. It sounds and plays very nice, with that great tele twang. The neck is great, I'm guessing because it's modeled on a 60's neck, which can't be a bad thing. I would recommend this guitar to anyone;beginner, or advanced.
