Squier by Fender Standard Jazz BassThe Desire to Play Guitar Marks the Beginning of a Relationship That Will Last Your Whole Life
The Squier Standard Jazz Bass is an affordable update of Fender's classic design, featuring many Fender 'firsts' like the offset-waist body, ultra slim fast action neck and full-range bi-pole pickups as standard features.
First introduced in 1960 as the "Deluxe Model," the Fender Jazz Bass has stood the test of time to become one of the most played instruments in modern musical history. Now, Squier brings you all the magic of this celebrated instrument at an outstanding value. A hardwood J-Bass body, maple Jazz neck with rosewood fingerboard, and hybrid dual Jazz pickup configuration make this beauty an unbelievable playing and sounding guitar, especially for the money. Individual volume controls and a master tone allow for maximum flexibility and total control. Familiar appointments such as "butterfly" machine heads and a 4-saddle top-load bridge keep the Jazz tradition alive in this modern version of a true classic.

Even though this is only a Squier, it is one of the best basses I have played. Jazz basses don't only look awesome but have a unique sound. You can really customize your own sound. It has a low price and a great bass. I own it but I am upgrading to a pure Fender.
good guitar, i had one pickup, and a cable break on the inside, but the warrenty covered it. It has pretty good tone. Reccomended to any beginers like me.
I have had this bass for a little over a year and a half. It is a great beginner bass. I have really enjoyed playing. The only down fall I have had with it is its weight. Besides that, it has a great sound and has a great feel to it. I have to say that it is not a fender. That goes back to why have good when you could you can have better. If you are somewhat experienced and you have the money, buy a Fender. If you are a beginner and/or you are poor, buy the squire.
I was totally blown away by this bass. Your hand just melts into the neck. It feels so comfortable. Also, this bass has great action. The bridge is alright, but hey, its a Squier. If you are looking for a good bass, but not ready to dish out 400 bucks, you should definitely look into this bass.
I just purchased one of these and I think it's a great instrument. The quality and feel is that of the Fender jazz. It has the jazz growl and sound. The pickups are a tad noisy when soloed. The tuners are very good and stay in tune. Out of the box the set up wasn't bad but I set it up the way I like it anyway. The only things I would replace on it are the pickups and the bridge. A Leo Quan Badass2 bridge and a set of Custom Shop 60s Jazz bass pickups will morph this instrument into a monster tone machine. This bass feels better than the Mexican Fenders. These are better than the Affinity Squires. Surprisingly the knobs and the pots feel of better quality than the Mexican Fenders. They are smooth and tight with no wiggle like some of the Mexican Fenders I owned. If you're in to customizing, save yourself 200 dollars and get the Squire.
