Overall, an excellent product with exceptional value for the small home studio or occasional jam session. The reasons for rating it 3-stars instead of 5 are:
- No manual or instructions were included with the product; while easy to figure out the basics, it would still be nice to read how the reverb is applicable to only input number one, the specs, and other operational details.
- No cables were included to connect the speakers (come on guys, these cost about 25 cents each from same your off-shore source).
- Control panel labels are screened in dark ink onto a black background (be sure to carry a high-intensity light to read the controls, even in well-lit rooms - - otherwise, it's all a guess as to which control you're adjusting).
- Amplification is sufficient for small auditoriums and it has low background noise when it's not too close to noise sources such as light dimmers, neons, and motors - pretty good sound quality for the price.
- No warranty information was included with the system.
- Most of the Squire 4 Sound System is made in a communist country where people are paid less than a dollar a day (the same unit could be USA-made for USA consumers if American businesses had better managers and skilled workers who are dedicated to producing quality products at competitive prices for the comparable consumer segment of this market).
Otherwise, it was a great buy. There's probably nothing else in this price class that can beat the Squire 4 for quality, value and basic utility, but a total quality manufacturer would never have shipped it without a manual and cables - - and they'd have a website where one could download a manual, find warranty information, and order accessories of the same brand and class that compliments the Squire 4 line. No, it's not a Fender; but then Fender isn't what it used to be either! -JK, 2002
