The drums have 9 plies for toms, floor tom and snare drum, and 12 plies for the bass drum.Tune it up, and Stay in Tune! All of the lugs are equipped with Sonor's TuneSafe tuning-safeguard feature, which prevents tension screws from loosening during hard rim shots or where batter heads have been loosely tuned. The new square tension screws with fine-pitch threads guarantee optimum tunability. Slotted tension screws with fine-pitch threads remain available as accessories.Maximum Resonance! The vibration-free T.A.R. system (Total Acoustic Resonance) with APS (Advanced Projection System) provides for maximum resonance and sustain. This tom mounting system, the bass drum bracket, bass drum, and floor tom legs all come equipped with special APS rubber insulators that prevent direct contact between the metal parts and the wooden shells. This gives the drums a more dynamic, more precise sound.
