The SDMK2 is nice toy or starter drum for the child that shows interest in drumming. It does not offer a line out so it can't be attached to an amplifier. The internal speaker is loud enough, but its quality is poor. Finally, the hot spot on the heads is quite small although I'm sure kids will learn quickly. These factors make it unacceptable for performance or advanced drumming If you have a child that wants to try drumming at an early age, this is an inexpensive way to go and should give them lots of fun.
