I picked up a D160 a couple of months ago and am delighted with it. The guitar looks great, the workmanship is good and the playablility and sound are just terrific. A deep bass, clear trebles and great sustain. All it needed was a minor adjustment at the nut and saddle. I have owned over 30 guitars and this is by far the best value I have found. I'm using Webstrings Bluegress PB strings and a heavy pick. I love this guitar.

This is a very good guitar for a really good price. The sound is full, and the playibility is good. I can't afford the next price level for a solid wood guitar and D-160 gives me the feel and sound that laminate/nato can't. The finish is well done with a beautiful pattern on the headstock. I will have my local guitar shop upgrade the saddle, strings, string pegs, maybe the nut and tuners to make a very good instument even better.

This guitar represents an incredible value. The finish is very good, overall its is a very attractive guitar. I have been playing for over 20 years and have played and owned countless guitars. For the price point this guitar sounds outstanding. It will require some set up unless you can handle very high action or play slide. I recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a step up from the beginner guitars in this price range. However as I said unless you are comfortable with adjusting saddle height and some minor fret clean up, you might want to pass this one up or hire a pro to set it up for you.

To start with I have played pricy and absolutely great sounding acoustics and also cardboard shoe box acoustics throughout the years. I have played Quality American Martins, Japanese Tokai Cat's eye acoustics and crappy shoe box, imitation, low quality ovations and fenders. I have compared this Silver Creek guitar with Alvarez, Ibanez, Washburn, Mitchell, Squire and Applause that is within their price range. I must say that this guitar is a very Good Deal when it comes to SOUND Quality. It has a Deep, Rich, Solid and Warm sound comparable to low to mid price Martins. My only problem is the action, Im still trying to get used to it and still aging the strings and the neck. Sound wise you can do harmonics with a breeze, the sustain is around 7-9 Seconds and it is constructed like a martin (neck, headstock and body). Im still trying to build a chemistry with my voice and the sound of this guitar and I must say it is improving.

Folks, this guitar is a steal! Solid wood construction with beautiful looks and feel. And yes the big guitar sound is there with the perfect blend of tone. Of course you will have to have it set up with quality strings but even Gibsons need to be set up out of the box. I loved it so much I bought 2 of them (one mahagany and one rosewood. DO IT!
