The 4 piece set is great. Although you say it is application specific, this is not entirely true. The bass mic works great on a bass guitar cabinet and the tom mics can be used for guitar cabs. The quality is close to the sm 57s but they are much more versatile because of the size. The enclosed clips attach directly on to the drum rim which eliminates the need for stands, except for the kick drum, where you can use a low profile stand.
