I use two Beta 57a mics for my Hammond/Leslie speaker. I use one on the left and right of the Leslie's high frequency horns through the Leslie cabinet's louvers. I pan each mic through the left and right stereo channels of the sound system. These Beta 57s mics give me the best and fattest Hammond sound I have heard, especially for outdoor performances. The spatial effect of the panned Beta 57a mics is awesome. I also use an AKG D-112 for the bass rotor in mono through both channels. I get many people that say they haven't heard a Hammond organ like mine in many years. These mics have helped me keep the Hammond/Leslie sound alive and in its well deserved place in music history as the most beloved musical sound of all.
The Beta 57A is, quite simply, a fantastic microphone. I cautiously purchased 2 and now I intend to replace my entire range of SM58's & SM57's with the superb Beta 57A.Great for vocals, no need to get close to the grille due to its sensitivity. I have also used the Beta 57 on Drum Overheads, Snare, Kick & Toms and it just out performs most other mics for application and sound quality. Very neat/contemporary look and great value for money (its worth double the list price!).I cannot recommend this mic highly enough.
I don't know what to say about this product except that it's one of best the microphones ever made.
This mic is so cool! And so versatile, too. I've chosen to limit it to just my amplifier, though, so that's what I'll review it on. This mic is amazing. Depending on how you place it in relation to the amp's speaker, you can get so many sounds! Placing it right in the middle of my Marshall's speaker, this mic has bite! But by moving it down a mere 2.5 inches to the right, I was able to isolate a more tempered, smooth sound. And that's only two placements! Pretty much, you get completely different sounds whenever you move this mic around the speaker. Also, it's built like a tank! You could run this thing over with a car and it would still be in "ship-shape"! I love this mic and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy the best.
If you record or gig, this is a sweet mic. You can mic a bass drum, snare, toms, cymbals, guitar amps, overhead percussion, anything. Shure is the best, and will be the best for years to come. If you want good sound, good price, and Shure sound, this is your mic. Great on vocals as well.
