I've had these on a custom strat clone that I had built in the late 70s. I still gig with that guitar and the machines are great, so I decided to go with what I know is good, for a new neck I'm putting on another guitar I have which is a '95 Fender Roadhouse. I also like that the bottom of the tuners are square, with the screw hole in line with the bottom so that they can be aligned with each other by butting a straight edge up to the machines in a line. I considered the locking tuners, but I've never seen the need, as these stay in tune consistently.
