I bought one for my nephew, and then bought another one for myself. I already had the QT-7. It is larger than most of the other electronic metronomes, so it is mostly for home usage. It has a nice loud, yet pleasing wood clack sound, and the LED lights mimic the swing of a mechanical pendulum. You can move your head to the beat.

The tone that it makes is almost identical to the sound that a gock block makes. It comes with an ear piece that I have found is very helpful when you are trying to listen to the music that you are making. It helps because the loud "clack" that it makes without the earpiece, drones out the music that you are playing.

I have a metronome on my Yamaha P-80 and on my Yamaha AW16G. The AW16G's metronome was a pain setting up for standard practice. The P-80's metronome is okay, I guess, but this metronome is so much better. At first I figured it would be a disadvantage by not having every number from 40-208. But I then found this to be a blessing. If your sheet music states a number that is not listed then go to the next lower number. The ear phone is useful, I thought it was going to get destroyed by the time I pulled it out. But it didn't. I like the labellings that show what tempo range you're in. One disadvantage (which can be solved by angeling the unit one side or the other) is the fact that sometimes from 40-92, the first digit can't be read, and from 92-up, the last number can't be read, but this is no big issue. I like the Tuner. The 440(A) is the correct pitch for the piano. So you can play in time, while checking to see if your A notes are in tune.

This metronome has a nice sound to it. It is very similar to the "clack" of a mechanical metronome (no tone), but with quartz accuracy. It will also put an accent on the downbeats of measures too. The accent sound is a clack also but has a tone associated with it. There is no volume control and no way to turn of the sound and just have the lights blink. You can plug the supplied headphone into the metronome and it will disable the sound though. The headphone is just a little plug. It doesn't have a great sound, and the accent beat is hard to distinguish. The lights are nice and you can have either a pendulum or two lights alternating. The accent beat will flash green. There is a fold out stand that will do its job. Overall very nice.

This is a great metronome if you're looking for something easy to carry and is cheap. It does all of the basic things one would need from a metronome. The only thing I found that I disliked about it is that it is BIG. If you are short on space and would rather spend the extra 5 or 10 bucks on a much more compact metronome, do so.
