This cymbal is quick and powerful but a bit too exotic, thrashy, and china-ish (which is great if you like that kind of thing). Definitely worth the big $ but still could be improved on. The HHX crashes still remain the best line of crashes on the market. All in all, its a nice change because I am china-less, but I recommend you buy the HHX-plosion and/or the HHX stage crash first.
I use the 18" as a secondary crash to go with my 16" hhx stage crash and it is awesome! It's punchy, can be very loud if you want it to, yet it produces a nice warm, quieter sound if you hit lightly. This thing really projects live! It's warm but not too dark like Zildjian's ks. It is very versatile. I recommend them with the hhx stage and hhxplosion crashes.
