Sabian AA Metal-X Crash CymbalSabian AA Metal X Crash Cymbal
DesignSABIAN has introduced AA Metal-X, a range of aggressive, high-powered cymbals designed specifically for today's hardest-hitting, loudest and heaviest drummers. Handcrafted from SABIAN secret-process B20 bronze, the world's most durable and effective cymbal alloy, AA Metal-X delivers power through a uniquely new and innovative design that focuses on cymbal performance efficiency, not weight to create the power required to cut through today's high-powered playing situations. Loaded with new design concepts, this professional 'Brilliant Finish' range is definitely designed for today's power players.
Commented Sabian master product specialist Mark Love:"AA Metal-X gain power from their design, not the addition of more metal, so they respond faster and louder, cut farther, and explode with bigger sounds. This is done by maximizing the power potential of the tension found in the metal of AA cymbals, then releasing it with a design that not only accelerates the response rate, but boosts response power to a new higher level. Each cymbal is lathed, polished to a Brilliant Finish, then line-lathed a second time. The amount of pressure applied in that 2nd lathing tunes the structure of the cymbal sound and increases its effectiveness. AA Metal-X is not for the shy; it's for drummers who play with the sort of hard-hitting conviction that would destroy other cymbals."

Loud, cutting power. Great for metal music.
They're penetrating, bright and kinda crispy, really heavy, at least they haven't cracked. And belive me, I SMASH them! That's how my Hand Hammered rock crashes tore at the bell. I guess its not how thick they are, its how flexible they can be.
I had been a die-hard Zildjian user for years when a fellow drummer turned me onto Sabians. He claimed they were the most durable cymbals around and sounded great. Well, so far, it's all true! I tried the Metal X 19" crash... it's very loud (I play in a metal band), and cuts through while retaining some warmth and tone. I went out and got an 18" Metal X as well, it's brighter but still sounds nice at high volumes. And so far both are proving to be very durable, no problems at all!
I tried these cymbals when a friend of mine told me they were for hard hitting drummers and believe I hit really hard. They are really METAL!!. So awesome that I started with a 16",now I have a 18",a 19", a 10" splash and a 20" china. You should definitely try them
I got this cymbal and I frickin love it! At first I thought I might have just wasted money cuz it didn't fit with my old set of ZBT's, but I broke it in to my set and I loved it! it wasn't what I was looking for but it was 1 better. Its sound is a little flat, but not enough to screw up the sound. It also is very dark, witch is a good mix with the little bit of flatness. Its bell has a raw, kind of sound but not much, its very soft. All in all its a wonderful cymbal and I recommend it to any drummer that can get money!(I got the 17 inch) their a little bit pricey but worth more than every penny.
