About Rousseau MouthpiecesEach year, more saxophonists throughout the world are discovering the advantages provided by E. Rousseau mouthpieces. The reason is simple: E. Rousseau mouthpieces work. They work because Eugene Rousseau, active throughout the world as a soloist, has transformed the demands of today's performer into precision performance tools. When you purchase an E. Rousseau mouthpiece, you are making an artistic investment. You know that your investment is sound when you consider that all E. Rousseau mouthpieces meet the following rigid standards: (1) a unique, practical design that balances the baffle, sidewalls, and facing; (2) use of the finest quality hard rubber and metal; (3) thorough and exhaustive field-testing prior to manufacturing; and (4) careful inspection of each mouthpiece prior to shipping.
The New ClassicThe E. Rousseau New Classic alto mouthpiece was developed to complement the highly successful 'R' series. It has been designed with an entirely new choice of facings to meet the demands of the world's top performers. Features include a new chamber with a redesigned baffle and sidewalls to provide an even more centered tone; a new tip rail for a more precise fit of reed; and a longer shape for a more secure fit and easier tuning. The New Classic series includes soprano, alto and tenor models.

As a 15 year old jazz enthusiast, I thought I'd never find a classical mouthpiece that excited me. Well, I got my NC4 and after getting my classical embouchure going, I realized that this mouthpiece has a sweet tone! It has easy projection and a focused sound and lets me feel the freedom of jazz with the discipline of classical. If you're like me and want to be classical but cool, try the classical piece that rox.
The New Classic series greatly improves a number of inherent tonal problems of the saxophone. I find it has the greatest evenness of tone of any classical mouthpiece I have tried. It improves tonal inconsistencies between such notes as #C-D, D-Eb, etc. and thus, provides better intonation and response. It plays warmly, but with a good characteristic vibrance of tone. In addition, it is easily played by students of all ages and provides maximum benefit for the investment. Great mouthpiece!
This piece is so much better than a selmer c* its unbelievable. I can get more projection, which means more dynamic contrast. Its less resistant to a c* and it has a nice, centered, sweet tone. I play on a NC5 facing and I recommend this to those who are serious about classical music.
This mouthpiece is by far the smoothest and sweetest sounding classical mpc I've ever played on. I'm big into jazz, but I really needed a good classical mpc for symphonic season. This one is the one to buy. The sound is pure and clear. I use this mpc on my Yanigasawa 991 Alto along w/ hemke reeds. It's a great combination. This mpc takes some breaking in, but then again what mpc doesn't?! This is by far the best of the best.
I'm in the 9th grade and I've been especially good for my age and my sax setup with a beginner Vito, Optimun Lig, and a old Selmer C*. I knew it was time for a change so I decided to check out this...From the moment I played my first note on this mouthpiece is was like, "WHOA!" The tone was darker, yet more forceful and powerful. For an intermediate player on a new mouthpiece, altissimo was quite easy. From the low range to the high range, every fundamental was perfect. A best buy!
