Bass players can tap fully into Roland's popular GR-20 guitar synthesizer with the new Version 2 software. "Great for instant playing on guitar once the pick-up is properly fitted"

After spending the best part of the day carefully fitting the pick-up,I had a lot of fun playing the GR 20.There was a slight time lag when playing the guitar which I could easily put up with, never the less the bass guitar fitted with the GK 3b pick-up had a huge difference of delay when the strings were plucked which to me is unacceptable. Some synth sounds and the normal bass guitar (banks)were useful and if you can go up on the neck of the bass and play chords with your thumb and fingers you get good results from the organ/bass and strings/bass banks. In my view the guitar is better suited to the GR 20 than the bass guitar.I think it's quiet useful if you know when to apply it in a band situation. It will play a lot better if you get a Roland -ready guitar and, if your using the device in a live band, plug it through the P.A. as some sounds have a good HI-FI quality which will get lost in a guitar combo.
