I was shocked when I first opened it up. It blew my mind at how beautiful it looked. I re-strung it with fender nylon bass strings. This bass is more or less meant to be plucked with the fingers, instead of a pick(which I normally use). The sound is so warm, and very good. I turn my tone knobs around half way to get that true" upright" sound. It will take me some time to get used to playing a fretless bass, but I look forward to years of music, and developing my technique. Overall, a bass definately worth picking up.
I bought this for my husband. He has been a musician since he was a teen. I was worried that he wouldn't be happy with this bass, but he was overjoyed to say the least when he saw it. He loves the sound and the color is absolutely beautiful. I went with the Candy Apple Red. He did trade out the strings for some that are meant for fretless basses so the neck does not get scratched up, but other than that he is completely happy with it. My only issue was processing took much longer than it should have and the gift was late to arrive.
