I'll have to admit for the price that I paid for this banjo I was nervously anticipating little dings and flaws in the workmanship of this instrument. Becausd of the price there were certain details that I looked for in this banjo; such as the the curvature in the base of the neck, where it meets up with the actual banjo rim itself, how well it cut to fit - among other things that are sometimes very apparent in the cheapo' models. Well, I could go on and on but the bottom line is that, in my opinion I got more than what I paid for here. Both quality and performance.

I don't know much about banjos, but i wanted to learn so I didn't want to spend much. I bought this because I've had pretty good luck with Rogue stuff in the past, and it was definitely worth it. Well built, holds tune pretty well, although the 5th string friction tuner you need a screw driver to slightly tighten the screw on it to keep it from slipping. Intonation is good, sound is good, really nice. For somebody who just wants a banjo to fool around with or an absolute beginner, you can't beat this thing.

This banjo is a very good beginner's banjo, it plays bright and is affordable and tunes up quickly. There is a slight buzzing noise that can be adjusted down by adjusting the bridge. Measure from the nut to the 12th fret and the correct distance of the bridge is the same distance from the 12th fret. Then adjust the bridge a little more back or forward until the buzzing stops when the strings are in tune. I like this instrument and the way it feels and sounds and would recommend it to anyone wanting an inexpensive banjo. Metal finger picks really brings out the music.
