This product is so important because it cheaply extends the life of your pads and hardware. You would have to run a swab through the horn many times to accomplish what this product does in a quick insert-reinsert motion. Swabs also have difficulty drying the pads of the instrument. In my city, many instrument renters lease out instruments with "body swabs" as a standard.

Pad savers are an easier alternative to cleaning out your sax, and help keep the interior of your sax clean. You may not know, though, that the spit collected by the pad saver can actually harm your pads while the pad saver rests in the sax. Instead, use a swab after each time you play. It takes more time, but will help you in the long run.

I have been playing the saxophone for 26 years now and I started using the "shove it" when it first came out. I used it in my beginner horn and it kept the pads from rotting... especially around D# pad where most of the moisture collects when you get done playing, usually settling in the tone hole of the D#. It also kept the inside of the horn pretty clean. When I got my new horn,a Selmer Super Action 80, I also got the "Shove it" and have been using it every since. The inside of my horn looks as new as it did when I first got it in 1986. I have only needed one pad change since then and I have only changed a couple of pads that have just simply worn out like the octave pad on the neck and the G# pad.All in all I would recommend this to anyone serious about the care of their Saxophone.

Nice product and very convenient. It does exactly what it's supposed to do by keeping the moisture at a minimum.

Instead of spending time using the old fashion swab with the little weight at the end of the string. You jut put the Pad Saver in after every time you play and your done! It really works, I've been playing sax for almost 10 years, one of the better things on the "Sax market".
