I've had this on my 13" Pearl custom brass piccolo for over a year. I must say, it differs quite a bit from any ordinary snare. (Incredible punch) A piccolo already cuts through music, but something of this nature just adds to it. It gives my snare a cut, no other snare strand could. It also adds a great deal of sensitivity to the drum, and I agree with the other reviewer at the top, this is not for sloppy players, because virtually ANYONE will hear your mistakes when you have this on. I've even heard someone refer to it as the "concert snare PROJECTOR". If you want a touchy, loud, crack out of your snare, look no further. The sound is GREAT.

Did you always want to own a Rogers Dyna-Sonic snare drum? Well, I did. Try to buy one now, even on E bay and it is just too expensive and you don't know what you are getting. Nothing is quite like the dyna sonic, but this is the same idea. TRY the active snare system on your drum. Now this is NOT for you guys who don't know what a good drum should sound like. It will help you get a bit of a more orchestral sound. You will have to PLAY BETTER TO USE THIS PRODUCT. A little more articulation. This will show up poor drumming technique. If you need new snares, try this out. Unless of course you have about 800 bucks to get a nice custom made black swamp snare or CLEVELANDER drum with multiple snare set ups. You might try the old ROGERS technique of loosening the tension rods nearest the snares with this system. You might get even more sensitive response. If you want to be a sloppy drummer, this is not for you!
