Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead
Remo's popular PinStripe heads are made from two-plies of Remo Clear film and internally muffled to dampen both the high overtones and overall resonance. The result is a very focused, low pitched sound with moderate attack and response characteristics - ideal for creating a deeper, fatter, controlled drum sound in a variety of studio and live drumming situations. Coated, for an even more controlled sound and better brush surface.

These heads are the best. I play punk and metal so these are perfect. They are extremely durable and they have a middle layer of oil for the sound. Way to go remo!

These sound real good. They combine the clear pinstripe's fat sound and controlled overtones with the extra warmth, tone control, and attack qualities of a coated head. I use them on bass, toms and snare with great results. You don't have to tape anything to the head either. These heads will give you all the overtone control you need by themselves. They are also very durable.

These heads produce excellent sound for toms. They have a low sound, but not to low. The perfect tom sound for any rock or punk drummer.

These heads are great. I have the 12, 13, and 16 inch heads. They sound great on my Gretsch black hawk drum set. They are muffled. They just sound good all around. I give it a 5.

"All-Time Favorite Snare Drum Head!"

The Remo Coated Pinstripe head is my favorite head for snare drums. I have used them on most of my snares for over 26 years! Why? These 2-ply wonders give you a bigger, fatter tone as compared to a single-ply Ambassador or equivalent. There are still some overtones. In fact, Remo Emperors actually sound somewhat deader than the Pinstripe. I go for a big, fat snare drum sound by tuning the batter head to a C#. If I want a tighter sound I just tune it slightly higher to a D. My bottom snare head is tuned to an F. The result? I'm getting a huge sound out of my 6.5x14 Pearl Brass Free-Floaters! It's down-right delicious! These heads are capable of producing powerful sounds if you tune them properly! Make sure that the bottom ply has no visible wrinkles; Remo quality-control, as we all know, has been shaky at times as far as two-ply heads are concerned. So, check for wrinkles before you make your purchase. All in all, my favorite snare batter head, and I think you'll love them too!
