Why Buy

2 ply clear drumhead bonded at the collar for focused sound with moderate attack and response. Internal muffling.

Remo Clear Pinstripe Head
Remo's popular PinStripe heads are made from two-plies of Remo Clear film and internally muffled to dampen both the high overtones and overall resonance. The result is a very focused, low pitched sound with moderate attack and response characteristics - ideal for creating a deeper, fatter, controlled drum sound in a variety of studio and live drumming situations.

Overall, Pinstripes are pretty decent heads. They have lots of high-end and overtones that make for a lively sound. But the thing I don't like about them is that no matter how you tune them, they sound "choked," as though they can't resonate as freely as some other 2-ply heads I've tried.

Good heads for the price and they sound better than my original Ludwig heads.

Me and a friend have had these heads on a set for almost two years now. We both play Metal/Hardcore, and usually play every day. I can say, from experience, that these are the best heads on the market. These are THE best Rock heads that you can buy, and are still reasonably priced. I have no complaints or negative comments about these heads.

I've been using pinstripes for years. They have a full, fat, low, wet sound great for rock. They have extra film at the edge and a sealed collar and require no additional muffling especially when tuned low. These heads are great.

Remo pin stripes are by far one one of the best general use drum heads available. Great for any style of music.

These heads were just what I was looking for!!!! I had Evans g2s on my Tama Starclassic Performer (birch. They sounded good, but they just weren't the sound I was looking for. The pinstripes gave me a nice deep sound. They were also really easy to tune!

20 years ago, I bought my seven-piece Rogers drum set. I played in a rock garage band for several years before life got too busy. Two days ago, I brought my drums out of storage, tuned them, began playing, and was astounded that the heads sounded so well. I have expected that I would need to replace them. After a few hours practice, I now know it's unnecessary. I've yet to break one of these heads and, after 20 years with the same ones, I'm beginning to wonder if it's possible.

I have clear pinstripes on my 12", 13" toms and my 16" floor tom. I have an entry level kit, and it's clear that the pinstripes give them a much better sound even without replacing the resonant sides. The double ply on each head makes them extremely durable, which is good if you're like me and beat really hard on your drums. At this price, these heads are the best you can buy if you're going for a traditional tom sound. However, keep in mind that since the head is 2-ply, I find it's a little harder to accurately tune the drum that carries a pinstripe head. But don't let this deter you, the extra durability is well worth it.

Since I started playing drums, the remo's pinstripe double ply head was my first choice for over 7 years. The combo of 2-ply makes every tom sound sweet and warm. Also it blends into any kind of music. It's the best head for toms and bass drum.

I have pinstripes on the toms of both my 1960's Slingerland "Sound King" big band kit as well as my personally built Keller shell kit, and they sound fantastic on both. On my maple home-built kit, the sound is rich, punchy, and round, while on the Slingerland, it's ringy enough for swing, while having a very round, and full sound, with plenty of attack. I've tried others, such as Evans G2's and Aquarian Performance II's, but I've always came back home to the Pinstripe. They retain their tuning like a dream, and they've NEVER failed me! I highly recommend them on any kit, high-end or not (so why are there are only "5 stars"?!)!
