This drum is a first birthday present for my grand daughter. She has had access to one at the YWCA where she is in a baby class. They don't call it "gathering" drum for nothing - the babies congregate, sit on, beat on this drum. With her mother's permission I bought one for her birthday that is not until October, but when mom is away I pull it out of the car. At 10 months she has taken to using the drum sticks - two handed - to hit on the drums. The child is developing quite a beat.
