Overall, Pinstripes are pretty decent heads. They have lots of high-end and overtones that make for a lively sound. But the thing I don't like about them is that no matter how you tune them, they sound "choked," as though they can't resonate as freely as some other 2-ply heads I've tried.
Good heads for the price and they sound better than my original Ludwig heads.
Me and a friend have had these heads on a set for almost two years now. We both play Metal/Hardcore, and usually play every day. I can say, from experience, that these are the best heads on the market. These are THE best Rock heads that you can buy, and are still reasonably priced. I've been using pinstripes for years. They have a full, fat, low, wet sound great for rock.They have extra film at the edge and a sealed collar and require no additional muffling especially when tuned low. These heads are great.
