The Remo Ambassador Snare Side Hazy is my reference snare side head. I have tried snare side heads from every manufacturer, but the Remo Ambassador Snare Side Hazy stands out as the finest. It is crisp and sensitive. It does not sound plasticy or dull, like some other brands do. The Remo Diplomat Snare Side is a very fine choice, too, if you play quietly and need subtle response. The Remo Diplomat Snare Side is a very good choice for older snare drums that you want to get a higher head pitch using less turns on the tension rods (compared with an Ambassador Snare Side).
