Bought this drum kit after I got tired of playing the video game Rock Band. For the price, I wasn't truly expecting great tonal quality or durability. I was proved wrong however...after the intial set-up and tuning. The kit has a beautiful color, nice chrome hardware, and great sound. I cannot stress enough how important tuning is, taking your time (a day for me) and tuning it properly will make this kit sound like a much more expensive drum set. I highly recommend new heads (that goes for every drumset), I've found the Evans give the tightest, most percussive sound on this set. Coupled with a nice set of Zildjian or Sabian cymbals, and you will have a heck of a drum kit. If you took the Pulse logo off the front, people would think it was a high dollar kit. As for me, I leave it because I am very impressed by Pulse, and would buy again from them.

I should have paid more attention that I needed cymbals and a seat. It would have been nice to have had the instruction with the drums on how to put it together, but I e-mailed someone at Music123 and they were very helpful and told me how to find some on the internet, along with how to tune them. I am not sure how I am supposed to tune the bass drum pedal. Overall, I am pleased with my drum set and the Music123. Thank you. Lisa

this drum set is great and has a good sound. The only downside to it is that the snare drum dosent have a deluxe throw off just a regular. Over all it is a great drumset for the price

I needed a spare utility kit to leave at a venue that I play at regularly, and the price tag on the Pulse set was so attractive, that I figured I didn't have much to lose. Not expecting much from the drums, I was truly surprised to find out how good they sounded. Although the heads are usable, the batter heads, (including the bass drum) should be upgraded. I also recommend an upgrade on the resonant heads for optimum best sound. The hardware is definitely usable, but should eventually be upgraded as well. Small investments considering the price of the kit, which should last a lifetime with proper care. Without a doubt, these drums are an absolutely fantastic value, and a perfect entry level drumset.

We bought this for my son who has started drum lessons. This is a very sturdy well made set that I would definately recommend. Me & my husband both have pounded on it and it took the beating. Great beginner set for the money!
