I just got my hands on this unit today and I couldn't believe how easy it was to get up and running. I wanted to add 8 more mic input channels to my Digidesign Digi002 Rack ( PC running Windows XP Home), And wanted the best for my budget. And I made the right decision with the Digimax D8. I only had to run one ADAT(Optical) cable from the Digimax D8 ADAT output, to the ADAT input on my Digi002 Rack. And, BAM, I was ready to go. I looked for this wiring diagram online, but couldn't find one. After installation and wiring is done just turn on the D8,then the 002 Rack, then the computer (in that order). If you hear clicking/popping noise, Open ProTools, click Hardware,Setup, and set the clock to ADAT. You may need to restart. Presonus makes very good preamps and the D8 is no exception. These preamps sound just as good as the Digidesign. The D8 is advertised as an addition to the Digidesign Digi003 and other DAW's,but the Digi 002R is not mentioned. I am here to testify, that it works perfectly. Another note: Presonus has very good customer service. They tell you to call back if needed.
