I use this humidifier for my classical guitar and my guitar has never sounded better. It works great for me, and I have been using this for a year now with no snapping of strings. Very cheap and more effective than other expensive in-the-case humidifier.
It is designed be attached to the strings. Unfortunately, it places unwanted pressure on the strings. My g-string snapped twice in a month because the pressure on the strings. It still works as a humidifier. But if you don't change your strings once a week, it's not worth it.
