NEW - "Good speakers, dead mixer"

I bought this product to use for a music club in college. Upon arrival, it looked promising. We set it up at home and tried it out, and everything worked just fine. Come time for rehearsals, the mixer would just cut the signal off at various intervals. This was completely unreliable and unacceptable. We replaced this mixer with a Nady MPM 4130X. The Nady mixer, unlike the Phonic mixer, works. The reason I gave this product 2 stars as opposed to its much-deserved 1 star is that that speakers work fine and are great for their price range. The powered mixer is a dud- a waste of time any money. It does not work.

I got this pa system two days ago and love it. it is by far the best system i have ever heard for how portable it is. Yes there are the 8000 dollar concert hall speakers but if you're looking for a inexpensive system this is the one. It has worked well for practice and light performance already. The tweeters could be fuller sounding but is average for pa systems and the bass is full. If you like boomy bass you might want to add on a sub woofer cabinet. Other than that this has been great for two vocalists, a guitar and a bass (playing drums acoustically not through speakers) The reverb is also good. If you are thinking about this PA i would go ahead and get it. It's great.

Everything about this set was right. The cost, the mixer, the speakers, the accessories. I've been using it in my friends pub for doing a few 'intimate' gigs and it's working like a charm.

I needed an easily portable system. This is perfect for small rooms. When everything is hooked up it is very very quiet. The quality is better than acceptable, excellent for this price. You can't get a better quality for anywhere near this price. The fact that it includes 2 good speaker wires and a microphone makes it a fantastic deal.

This set is excellent! So far no problems. The speakers are loud for being so small in wattage, and they're unbeatable at the selling price!

This Phonic Powerpod package is such an incredible value - I want to tell you how satisfied I am with this whole deal. The channel controls, as well as the master control knobs all have a solid feel to them. The high and low adjustments are very well engineered: my acoustic guitars and vocals all sound crystal clean. The delay is quite effective and tweekable; and it sounds very nice. The overall construction of the PA head is very sturdy and attractiave. My only suggestion is that it would have been great if the front panel was backlit because it can be difficult to read the control names without direct lighting. The speakers, 10s with a piezo horn, sound great and deliver a very solid, satisfying bass. In fact, if the speakers were a 16 ohm load instead of the 8 ohm load, I would buy another pair to plug into the parallel jack in the back of each speaker. The system seems to have that much headroom! The microphone that came with the PA is very, very usable. Yes, it's a decent sounding mic; and the speaker cables and low z mic cable are decent quality as well. The tape in and out is a nice touch. I will be using this little system in coffee shops for the most part: sometimes as a monitor system to my other little PA, and sometimes as the only PA. I am confident it will do the job just fine. Even though the front panel controls could be backlit, and the speakers could be offered in 16 ohm loads as well as the 8s, I am still giving this system the highest rating because it is truly deserving of the high score. In addition to all of the above, it seems to me as though this system is MADE IN THE USA! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? This is my first purchase of a product made my Phonic - I will not hesitate to purchase the Phonic brand in the future. If you're looking for a great sounding little PA and want feel as though you got your money's worth, then look no longer - get the Phonic Powerpod 410 / S710 PA Package. You too will have something to crow about.

"Great piece of gear!"

This is the first gear of this type that I have had, and I could not be happier. Easy setup, everything I needed, and sounds great. I have been using mainly as a kickback speaker to practice and the sound is crystal clear. Have not tested in a large room yet, just turning it up to "3" makes a big sound. The only problem I have had is can't get rid of some low level hum when hooking up my Yamaha YPG keyboard.

I bought this PA for smaller two person gigs and practice. I was very pleasantly surprised how well this system works. For the price I paid I wasn't expecting this PA to be as good as it is. Time will tell how reliable it is but I've had it for a few months and used it last week for a room with 100 people and it delivered. I'm very happy with it.

"Great system for the money"

I looked around for quite a while to find a small PA system, easily portable, mainly for microphones and potentially an acoustic guitar. A few friends and I get together in our houses to jam with practice amps and never could mic the singer. We have a large PA and stage amps for the more serious times, but didn't want to hall it around for practice. Pawn shops and used music stores could not come close to this package. I was very pleased with the overall package for this price. I expected a very cheap microphone, but it actually sounded pretty good. The speakers sound great with a microphone and acoustic guitar. Playing .mp3 music through the system reveals that the bottom end of these speakers is not great, but for the price, you cannot complain. 4/5 stars only because the speaker and mic cables are pretty cheap (work fine). The speaker connectors are set in a plastic speaker handle and flex when you plug/unplug the speakers. Don't know how this will hold up over time. Again, for the money and easy portability, nothing else comes close. I would expect this to be great for a small venue and rehearsals.

If you are looking for a small start up sound system that works great and costs little, look no further. Well made, great speakers, and really good sound. The cables aren't the best and will be replaced but overall you can't go wrong with this setup. We are a four piece acoustic group and this fits the bill perfectly for the small venue.
