This amp is amazing, its a 5150 with the name changed, everything else, 100% exact. This amp is solid, loud, and sounds amazing. I can't say to much for the clean channel, although it can be used as another channel for dirty/natural tube overdriven tones(like a sparkle drive). This is THE most versatile amp on earth. Best said for metal. I have a 5150 and it's about 4 years old. I've played new and almost first-model-old ones, and they all sound the same. DON'T HESITATE TO BUY THIS AMP its simply amazing!

"The amp that started it all"

Thanks to EVH and Peavey's joint effort, this amp was groundbreaking. The first amp to have tons of low end oomph. It's been recorded on so many top releases. Not the most feature rich amp out now, but enough to still make it my fav all time amp: 2 channels, effects loop, footswitch. Made in the USA and very affordable. Just pair this 6505 with a Celestion Vintage 30 loaded cab and you have the makings of great tone for hard rock and metal. There is a reason producer Andy Sneap lives by these amps! Phenomenal.

This amp screams at gigs. When it is not being run through a system, I only have to put in on 3 to overpower the other instruments. The distortion is just enough to my liking. The cleans could be a little better, but in metal the clean doesnt really matter. This is the best amp I have ever played!I recommend this amp to anyone.
