Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Double Pedal
The Eliminator Demon Drive bass drum pedal was engineered to create the most seamless link between the player's musical ideas and his or her execution on a bass drum. Whether seeking to deliver lightning-fast blast beats or deep, rock-solid grooves, this Pearl drum pedal offers the adjustability to maximize your playing in any style.

Play a Pearl Demon Drive and the first thing you'll notice is its smoothness. The Demon Drive gets its incredible smoothness and speed through the use of ultra-precise hardware components. Self-aligning spherical bearings are used to insure the footboard and the Direct link drive are always in perfect alignment. Its zero-latency Z-Link Drive Shaft's U-Joints, and special super high-speed NiNjA bearings on the axles all work in perfect sync to create one of the smoothest and fastest pedals on the planet.

The most unique feature of the Demon Drive drum pedal is Pearl's exclusive Duo-Deck, the world's first convertible footboard. With a simple adjustment, the Demon Drive pedal can be adjusted from a traditional shortboard to a longboard pedal in seconds, offering a slightly lighter, quicker feel that is the preferred setup when speed is a necessity.

This bass pedal includes the world's first two-position Beater Stroke Adjustment and two-position Direct Link Adjustment. Both allow the player to create a slightly lighter or heavier feel of the pedal depending on their preferred setting. Adjusting the Duo-Deck in combination with the Beater Holder and Direct Link Adjustments yields 8 possible pedal configurations, allowing the player to truly create their ideal feel.

The Click Lock spring tension system prevents the tension knob from loosening. The Traction Plate, which has aluminum traction dots, is fully adjustable for the amount of slip or grip you want . Its footboard height-adjustment capability enables you to loosen and rotate the footboard to the desired height. And finally, the Pearl pedal comes standard with a Carrying Case to protect it from the wear and tear of travel.

FYI - I returned my Demon Drive Double pedals (got them replaced with much superior TRICK Pro V2 Bigfoot pedals) after 1mth - the Demon Drives were simply no longer usable as the beater & clamp assembly kept on slipping no matter how tight I would tighten the beater adjustment clamp. I have +30 years of drumming experience and when i saw this issue first hand IMO there is a serious engineering issue that requires immediate attention with the beater stroke adjustment clamshell. I had both beater clamshells replaced once at Steve's Ottawa but it was obvious that as soon as you start tinkering with it and making adjustments the aluminum casted clamshell starts wearing and begins to constantly slip along the shaft. From the attached pic you can see that there simply isn't enough surface contact in the clamshell with the pedal shaft. As well, the clamshell inner linning is fairly smooth which doesn't help. As soon as it starts wearing (getting smoother) a bit and you play hard and fast the problem keeps worsening till it slips all the time and becomes unusable. As of yet no word back from Pearl regarding this defective design. I woulod be interested in hearing what Pearl has to say about it.

I've been playing drums for 10 years now. I've recorded many songs and played many shows. Pearl has honestly been my least favorite pedal. This one is actually amazing. It has ridiculous speed and packs power! If you have the cash buy this pedal, you wont regret it!

"I've played them all..."

I've played them all and this pedal is hands down the best! I have owned every major brand double bass pedal, from the $200 range up to $800, and this pedal beats them all. And, even thought I am a huge Pearl fan, I have never liked Pearl double bass pedals... until now. I was a little sceptical at first, but once I hooked this pedal to my kit, I was convinced. I swapped the Pearl beaters out with some red wood beaters, which gave the pedal more power and rebound than the ones that are included with it new (they are the black felt ones and they sucked). After making a few minor adjustments, this pedal was ready for duty. Unlike it's Pearl predecessors, this pedal was smooth, predicable and had the same feel whether using the main pedal or the slave pedal (a feet unaccomplished by double bass pedals until now.) They are very light and feel connected to your feet thanks to the direct drive. They don't take long to get used to either. You may have a hard time justifying $650 for some pedals, but, if you can afford them... buy them! I now own two sets of the Demon Drive pedals, one for my practice kit and one for playing out, that's just how good they are! These pedals in my opinion, are the best available pedals on the market today. Guess that's why they dominated the NAMM show this year! Get them, you won't regret it!
