If your a club drummer like me, you just never know how much space you will have to set up your kit until you get to the venue. Here is a word of advice. If you purchase this rack, you will have a smaller footprint on stage with your kit, and your guitarists and singer will thank you for getting rid of all those tom and cymbal stands that they have been tripping over every time your band performs. I perform classic rock and hard rock with my band. My set resembles a set up just like you would have found an 80's drummer playing. (4 ride toms, 2 floor toms, double bass pedal, 4 crash cymbals, china cymbal, splash cymbal, hi-hat, and a ride cymbal) By the time I was finished with mounting the ride toms on arms or stands, and the cymbals on stands, my hardware set up looked more like an entangled jungle of metal that any boa constrictor or python would have loved to crawl on!!! Enough was enough!! I purchased this rack and I will tell you that for the money you will not believe how clean your set up will look, how close you can have your ride toms next to each other, the infinite number of cymbal adjustments available (when used in conjunction with a cymbal boom arm) or how much you can fit onto the rack and into the tightest of clubs. This rack comes with 4 PCX100 Icon Pipe Clamps and 2 PCL100 Icon Pipe Leg Clamps. The PCX100 Icon Pipe clamps are great for mounting cymbal boom arms, and the PCL100 Icon Pipe Leg Clamps attach to the main vertical posts of the rack for additional cymbal mounting possibilities. (HINT # 1: For mounting ride toms purchase the PCX200 Icon Tilting Pipe Clamp for each ride tom you have) The PCX200 Icon Tilting Pipe Clamp allows you to adjust the tilt of the toms via the clamp itself instead of relying soley on the tom boom arm adjustment which may not be adequate enough. (HINT# 2: After you have purchased this rack and received it, take the time to set up your kit at your home or studio and get comfortable with the infinite possibilities that it offers. You will be very frustrated if you buy this and take it to your next gig and decide to set it up without a trial run. THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES THAT YOU WILL GO CRAZY OVERTHINKING YOUR SETUP!!!! In conclusion I'd like to say there is not one thing I would change with this item's design or function. The only dislike which is minor, is that Pearl does not include any of the PCX200 Tilting Pipe Clamps with the rack (they have to be purchased seperately) And last but not least to all my fellow drummers - Buy this rack, and open up to yourself and your kit the realm of endless possibilities.
