This cymbal is ideal for drummers who like to be heard. It cuts right through loud amps with ease. I own several cymbals from the 2002 line, and if you're a hard rocker, this is the way to go.
The pitch of the mediums are slightly lower than the power crashes, but that isn't necessarily bad. I prefer them for versatility in musical genres and because they sound great years after you bought them. They are like having old friends who never ever let you down!
I just received my 20" one of these, and just before I rant on how great it is, I'd like to thank Music123 for the excellent work they do. Shipped out to New Zealand I was expecting dings and bends but no, pristine. Thank you Music123, I'll definitely be back. Back to the cymbal. Loud, musical and shimmering, somewhere between washy and glassy, can't really tell just yet, and opens up nicely, not too fast not too slow. The decay may be a bit long for some tastes, longer than any Z Custom I've ever heard but I like a bit of sustain, makes quieter songs more full and gets lost in the background when playing the louder stuff. I love 2002's.
I use them exclusively , they cut and are also very musical at the same time. John Bonham , Ian Paice and many other greats used them because they kick ass. You wont be disappointed.
