I am a piano teacher and a church organist/pianist. I purchased this lamp because I need more light for the church piano. The price was right. However, the base is too light, making the lamp unstable. I took my own heavier-based lamp to the church and kept this lamp for home use.. II am trying to figure out how to make the base heavy enough to increase stability.. Otherwise, the lamp is nice looking and gives sufficient light. My old lamp is much better (very heavy) but there is no manufacturer name on it and I don't remember where I got it (several years ago). I would have paid more more a heavier base but this lamp is advertised as having a weighted base for stability (not true).

Nice lamp, but when it heats up the brass is stinky. Do not recommend and I am going to return it.
