The quality on this snare is as good as I have seen on many snares at twice the price. Looks good and sounds even better.

This drum has the looks and the sound to back it up. Very warm, and great tuning range. If you are looking for an out of the ordinary sound and want to expand your kits' sound. MUST BUY. :)

I bought this snare for the school Jazz Band. It was cheap and all maple. It has exceeded all expectations. It handles the roughness of a high school band and sounds terrific with evans coated heads. I plan to buy several more for the concert band when the budget allows.

Visually, what I like about this snare drum is the vintage look it has with the tube lugs, and wood hoops. This is a snare drum that can capture attention by the way it looks and sounds from drummers and non drummers. As far as sound goes, all the desired qualities are evident with a good tuning range and a warm, full, dynamic, wood sound that is comparable to higher priced snare drums. I believe the wood hoops are better than any metal hoops for cross sticking and rim shots, and they have surprisingly held up well. I think the wood hoops also enhance the overall tonal quality along with the maple shell. This snare drum is an exceptional value for the price. In my opinion, this snare drum is one of the best snare drums offered by any company; it is that good and the affordable price makes it attainable for many drummers to have one. I generally do not care for DW but their Pacific line of drums I think are good and this snare drum is outstanding in every way!

"Great sound, not the best price"

After using this drum for 3 gigs, I realized how much louder this drum really is. Through a miked system, the accent are very clear. This picture is not what exactly like the drum looks. I could probably found something cheaper but this will do.

This snare drum was a great buy. It was a lot less expensive then many like it. The wood hoops offer a great rim shot. It looks great and sounds even better.
