Ovation 6778 LX Standard Elite Acoustic-Electric Guitar

I have liked the looks and sound of Ovation Guitars ever since I saw and heard Jim Croce playing one while I was in Jr. High. When I saw this 6778 Standard Elite LX in New England Burst, I fell in love. Once I sat down and played it, felt how easy the neck played and how balanced the sound was, I had to have it. Plugged into my Yorkville AM100, it's all the acoustic/electric I could ever want. With Dean Markley Alchemy Strings, this thing sounds so sweet. Five piece neck, OP-Pro electronics, great looks, great intonation up the neck. If you are in the market for an acoustic/electric, don't pass up giving one of these new Standard Elite models a try. Make sure when you try it, have someone else play it for you as you listen. I don't know if it is the multi-sound hole design or not, but the sound as you play it, although quite nice, doesn't hit you like it does those who are in front of the guitar. The first time I played into a video camera and then played it back, I was amazed that the sound projecting outward from the guitar was even louder and more balanced, with more overtones than what I was hearing as I played it. This is not the only guitar I own, but it may very well be my favorite!

The Ovation Standard Elite LX is a super Guitar model, easy to play, better sound than many other Ovation models (my experience started with Celebrity OV-CC026). Some of my guitar playing friends say the same way. The state of finishing is absolutely top.The deal with Music123 was absolute without any problems, thank you once more for the easy transaction, the instrument arrived in a perfect condition.

I bought the 6778LX in NEB which the finish is wonderful and fell next to none. The sound plugged and unplugged is superb. The resonation this guitar produces is great! This guitar would be worth twice the money!

I have been the owner of a shallow Ovation Standard Elite for over 8 years. The finish on this guitar is impeccable. Despite this being my main acoustic axe, it shows almost no wear. The neck is straight like an iron bar and the binding looks like new.The preamp also works very effectively. While the guitar sounds good unplugged, it really justifies its value when you plug it in a good amp. I would recommend it to players who are looking for a lead instrument.I give this Ovation 4 stars as the sound could use more warmth. Al DiMeola fans will be satiated while strummers and folk singers should definitely look elsewhere.Overall, I'm certainly very satisfied with my purchase as this is the sound I was looking for and the guitar turns out to be durable and extremely well made. If you like the Ovation concept, you can't go wrong here.
