"Why don't you come over tonight after the show and we'll play on my Butter Rug Slipmat?" he said with a sly smirk. "Get a little Thud Rumble on."

"Wha?!" I responded, full of alarm. What kind of girl did he think I was? Did hanging out at the DJ booth make me cheap take-out?

"Yeah," he continued. "It's the slickest thing you've ever seen. It really helps me get my groove on."

"Have you ever tried a Butter Rug before?" he asked. My mouth must have been slacked open in astonishment, but he just kept going. "It's amazing what it does to your control! Everything feels so fast!"

I staggered back as he started bragging about his "advanced handling" skills. I had to get out of there, but not before I regained my dignity.

As I reached up to slap his vulgar mouth, he held up an illustrated box in demonstration. My fingertips brushed against the slipmat's texture and suddenly everything was clear.
