its every bit as sturdy as my other stand (which was a gift, but that I've seen sold for tiwice as much). Now I don't have to worry about my Alesis Drum Machine falling to the floor again.

I never dreamed I could get a stand this good for the money, and when it arrived I was blown away. This is a beautiful piece of gear! The finish is like silk, the tubing is sturdy and very adjustable, and it has those large plastic wing-nuts that look nice and are comfortable to adjust. The last time I bought a music stand was about 1979, and this one is miles above that one! I'd swear this stand should have cost 3 times what I paid.

The large holding surface and the extra reaching tripod legs are what makes this stand sing. I like to extend mine for an easy read while standing with my guitars and playing keys. The stand is very stable no matter how high I go. I write from my stand so I put a light on it and its still stable, and I'm spending a lot more time writing. I use to have to grab the back of my old stand while running a pen or pencil, not with this; it stays on its own weight. My wife doesn't like that, but I have a good time.

As a member of a Drum and Bugle Corps,I use a music stand when learning a new show. Sometimes the practices are held out side in the summer.If the weather is windy, I found that my stand was the only one that could hold up yo the conditions. This stand is srurdy, holds more weight than others and can comfortably handle large notebooks with ease. I would say that this is the best music stand I have ever owned.With the stand locked in a horizontal position, it also serves as a great snack tray for break time.

At any given moment, I'll have 2 or three songbooks, a pocket chord reference book, and lots of sheet music on this stand. It's very stable with a generous ledge. Huge ranges of adjustment and very solid.
