"Great Punchy Bass "

I have the Music Man StingRay 5, Honey Burst with the Rosewood neck. I changed the strings to a lighter gauge. This bass is very punchy and you can get almost any tone that you desire. To me punchy means that the sound of the bass is more of a midrange sound, with tons of sustain and the sound stands out. The bass is well-constructed, but it is heavier, in weight, than most basses. The neck is not narrow, by any means; it is thick. I cannot explain enough, the versatility that this bass has when it come to sounds and playability. It is a great bass for thumping (called slapping by many). Check this bass out; you will not be disappointed.

NEW - "Heavy hitter"

Bought my first EBMM about six months ago. It's a True Gold colored StingRay 5 HH with a maple fret board. The Ray is a little on the heavy side compared to other basses that I have owned. I love the bright strong tone that the maple board produces and the twin humbuckers are great. The neck is a little wider than I am use to but the action is really nice. The tones of this bass is unique to Ernie Ball and with it's 5 way switching it will produce just about any sound that you desire. Nicely constructed guitar with weight being the only negative factor.
