After playing the morley classic wah, I figured this one might be better for the Kirk Hammet like tone I wanted. It was great on the clean channel. On the overdrive channel it had problems. I am running it through a Marshall MGDFX and if you crank the gain up to high the gain over powers the wah and its barely recognizable, but if you put the gain to about 6 or 7 it's great. Great deal except for one warning, get a 9volt adapter. This pedal eats batteries faster than anything I've ever seen. It went through 2 9volts in about 3 hours and when the 9volt goes you're screwed.
This pedal is the best. I had the chance to hear it with Steve Vai live in a TV program with me next to him. This one and a distortion from Boss is the combination he used, so you can think it is absolutely great.
I have to say, I am pleased with this. This is awesome on both clean and dirty channels. I'm running my Horse through a old-skool one channel Marshall Lead 20! My other pedals include a BOSS Metal Zone and an 7-band Equalizer. This is shredding material if you want a Zakk Wylde squeal.
This is a great wah pedal, just make sure you have a boss NS behind it. It tends to be really noisy with a lot of buzz. I love the switchless feature, it takes a lot of confusion out of songs with wah on and off intros like in I Disappear from Metallica. Other than the Buzz which more than half of the buzz comes through my Dime pedal, (its just much louder with wah on) it is a great pedal.
This is a great piece! Switchless, great tone, easy setup/operation, and an excellent value! Whether you perform every weekend or just tinker at home, this is a killer wah at a great price!
