This thing so solidly built, is has some sort of super steel. Nothing will dent it, even hammers(don't ask). There was some serious thought that went into engineering this little critter. One word..."SMOOTH". The optical circuitry makes quick work of your signal, no pops or cracking, ever.
This unit has proven very useful as a volume boost. With it's minimum volume setting, I've been able to back off the volume during the rhythm/vocal parts of a song, while cranking up the volume on leads & intros. The Lil Alligator has really added to the dynamics of my playing, all without affecting my tone. My guitar cuts through the mix when necessary, and blends in with the band the rest of the time. HOWEVER, the trick here is to run the volume pedal in your amps effects loop. Otherwise, this jewel will do nothing more than emulate the volume knob on your guitar and you will definitely notice a lack of gain & tone in your sound. The 5 Star rating is conditional on the effects loop.
I bought this pedal and all I can say is GOOD JOB MORLEY! The minimum volume knob works wonders. The cool violin type swells are great. And the casing for it is solidly built. You won't be disappointed!
This is a very solid pedal. Someone else mentioned this which is important depending on how you plan on using this pedal. If you want it to work like a volume pedal you've got to run it through your amps effect loop. Otherwise it will only act like the volume knob on your guitar. I'm also impressed at how long the batteries last in this. I've had mine for several weeks now and I think I've only had to change the battery once.
