I've owned my Uke for almost a year and I enjoy playing it. I'm happy with the quality & finish. A soprano Uke is small & difficult to fret especially if you have big hands & fingers. It is excellent in holding a tune & it still has the original strings.

The S-O has a nice tone for a uke and is well crafted. It stays in tune for a long time. The seams of the body are almost flawless. This is a serious instrument with precise fretwork. The padded case is nice, but I think it is inadequate to protect such a delicate, wood instrument. After buying a hardshell case to replace it, I felt more at ease. With the S-O, I got the classic Martin uke look in a clean, new instrument.

I recently received my Martin S-O Uke as a birthday gift. It's a rather attractive instrument with that traditional Martin look. The wood craftsmanship is excellent and everything is fitted nicely. At first, one of the tuner knobs was difficult to keep in position (slight slipping), but it has since settled in nicely. Since the instrument has no gearing, it doesn't take much to change the tuning. Now, however, it holds its tune well. The small size of the uke makes it the perfect instrument to keep with you wherever you go. If you plan to travel with it, I would recommend a harder case than the one included. I have not found it difficult to play and I do have large hands. I guess it can get a little tricky down around the 10th to 12th frets, but in general, it is not bad. Uke music is very easy and fun to learn. This is a great instrument for casual or serious musicians looking to add something new.

I bought mine recently and it has an even better tone than I expected. I imported mine into the UK from Music123 as they are really hard to get and expensive over here. Back to the ukulele, the finish is lovely and the set up great. The case that comes with it, is the only poor thing. It's slightly too large and I wouldn't use it to take my uke out in. If you buy one I'd recommend getting a hard case.

I am loving my s-o ukulele now that I have put AQUILA strings on it, am loving the extra this brings to the sound. I felt the need also to invest in a hard case as the one it came with offered no protection at all.
