Martin D12X1 12-String Solid Top Acoustic Guitar
The 12-string Martin D12X1 acoustic guitar represents a fine example Martin's commitment to preserving the earth's dwindling resources and designing guitars that are within reach of every aspiring guitarist. Constructed with a combination of highly compressed wood fibers (high-pressure laminate, HPL) and traditional tonewoods, the D12X1 has the famous Martin sound and playability found in their more expensive guitars

This guitar is very well made. I was shocked at how good it was thinking it would be cheaply made or a low end Martin. But it is not. It has great tone. It is a little more heavy than i had thought but over all a beautiful product. It is worth every penny.

Bought this one sight unseen (I usually don't do this). This is my first 12 string. Have played the higher quality Martin 12 strings in stores and was impressed with quality and playability. I also own a D15 and I think its been a good guitar- this heavily influenced me in buying another Martin. This guitar has good tone and very good sustain. For the price, I was very impressed with its action and playability. Its not as fancy as some of the other low end 12 strings, but it is well made (fit and finish are perfect) and sounds like a Martin. The HPL back and sides concerned me as I was unsure of how it would affect the tone. I see no impact on the sound or the appearance. If power to weight ratio is a concern you might want to check some other brands. I think its a very good value for the money and would buy it again.

You absolutely cannot beat this guitar for the price. I put Elixers on it and could'nt be happier. The thing that really stands out about this guitar is how even the strings sound. I've had and played alot of 12 strings and you either seem to have the bass strings to loud or the treble strings to loud. This even sound just amazes me. I guess there is something to Martins bracing system!

At first a little shy of buying a "laminate" guitar, but it was a Martin, and affordable, so certainly worth a try. What a surprise! Sound is full and rich, as you'd expect from a Martin. Delightful action - very easy to play. Construction is excellent. No sloppy "low-end" assembly here. Again, that Martin quality shows. No fancy eye-candy-frills, like pearl inlays, etc., but who cares? It's playability and sound that counts and this guitar has that in abundance. Definitely lives up to the Martin heritage.

Outstanding in every sense. Outplays my expensive Taylor with ease. Only Martin could pull this off... Action, sound, playability unrivaled at this price.
