I read the many reviews of the D15, all of which sang its praises. Now I can add my own. This guitar is just wonderful. It's a thing of beauty to look at, without being ostentatious. It has incredible volume and clarity of tone. I play two kinds of music, folk and Hawaiian slack key guitar, and my D15 makes practicing sound like a concert. It's a very comfortable guitar to play, and seems to carry a touch of magic in the fretboard. My fingerwork is easier and more sure on some really complex licks, it's like the guitar is guiding my fingers and boosting my command of tempo and soul. I was already playing a lot but it's really hard to put this guitar down once you start playing. Unless you're looking for a prestige guitar of really high concert value, I advise you simply to buy this guitar and be done with it. It would be very hard to imagine anything under the $3,000 range coming even close in overall quality.

I too have owned several Martins, a Taylor, Gibsons, et cetera and am really pleased with my new Martin D15. Face it. They're giving them away for about $600.00 and how can you go wrong? They're every bit a true blooded Martin, not a imported knockoff. My dealer got two in and sold them both in one day. I was lucky enough to stop in during lunch to find it before someone else did. I tried it out with an old DeArmond soundhole pickup going through a Fishman Pro-Eq to the board and even with the crappy old pickup, it sounds great. I'm going to have a Fishman Matrix Natural pickup installed as soon as the local luthier gets caught up and then it will be ready to go out and play gigs. The nice thing is, I'm not freaked out about getting it scratched or dinged like I was with My pricey HD28VR. This is a workhorse, not a museum piece. It plays easily, it sounds great, has a heavy duty tolex case and it was cheap. And it's backed by Martin's full warranty. What's not to like?
